Through the Third-Party Email Service, you can configure your own SMTP sending account, enabling the RootAuth system to send various notification emails via your specified mailbox, improving email deliverability and brand image.
Feature Access: Console → Enter a specific application → Top navigation 「Configuration」 → 「Branding」 → 「Email」 → Select the “Third-Party Email Service” tab
1. Feature Overview
After configuring your own SMTP server information, all emails sent by RootAuth (such as registration activation codes, login verification codes, and password reset codes) will be sent through this account.
Once the third-party service is enabled, you can customize email content in the “Email Templates” section. If you do not edit the custom templates, the system will send emails using the default templates.
After saving the configuration, you can send a test email to verify that the settings are correct.
2. Enabling the Service
At the top of the page, there is an “Enable Third-Party Service” switch, which is off by default.
-
Enable: When the switch is turned on, the configuration form below becomes editable, allowing you to fill in the SMTP information.
-
Disable: When the switch is turned off, the form collapses, but any previously entered information is retained and can be reused when you enable the service again.

4. Save and Test
4.1 Save
Click the “Save” button. The system will validate the form content. If validation passes, the configuration takes effect immediately.
4.2 Save and Send Test Email
Click the “Save and Send Test Email” button. The system will first save the current configuration and then immediately send a test email to the email address associated with your currently logged-in RootAuth account to verify that the configuration is correct.
5. Relationship with Email Templates
-
Relationship with Email Templates: Regardless of whether the third-party email service is enabled, any customizations you make in the “Email Templates” section will take effect.
-
Sender Email: The “From” field in the email templates is automatically populated from the “Sender Email” and “Display Name” configured in the third-party email service. If the third-party service is not enabled, emails will be sent using the default RootAuth sender:
RootAuth <no-reply@email.rootauth.com>.
